If you attended last year’s event, we’re thrilled that you have decided to compete again. We welcome those who are participating for the first time and hope you are able to enjoy the largest winter playground in the North Island.

The Peak to Powderkeg is distinct, packaged within a very unique setting of the Volcano of Mt. Ruapehu, nestled within a Dual World Heritage National Park.

For our visitors, we hope you are able to get out and explore the Ruapehu Region. Our area has so much to offer – stunning scenery, top quality cuisine, thrilling activities and cultural experiences.

Thanks to our local and regional athletes for choosing to support our event. We also thank Ruapehu Alpine Lifts and The Powderhorn Chateau for hosting the event along with the various agencies and communities who live, and work in and around the course, for their continued support.
